TEXAS DEPARTMENT ON AGING
The Texas Department on Aging advocates and provides services for older Texans through a statewide network of 28 area agencies on aging and hundreds of their contracted service-providers. The services available include:

Nutrition services, including home-delivered meals or group meals served at senior centers and nutrition sites;

Transportation to medical appointments, nutrition sites and other critical destinations;

Information and assistance to help you obtain services available from other sources, both public and private;

Counseling on benefits and entitlements, including health insurance, for which you may qualify;

Case management (help from trained professionals in creating individualized packages of service to maintain health and independence);

Non-medical in-home services, such as chore maintenence, for people whose physical limitations prevent them from performing these task themselves; and

Volunteer opportunities that allow active seniors to contribute their knowledge and abilities to their communities.
